o Keep up their scores so when the window opens they can just post and change scores if needed.
o Kindergarten can get a head start and enter their Benchmark A scores now and do the Skills when the window opens.
o Teachers writing comments off Word if they get lengthy. The Gradebook can only accept 2 short lines. Then staple it to the report card when they get it.
o Planning ahead will make posting grades a lot easier.
o Attached are the guides to posting Kindergarten benchmarks and skills along with grades 1-6 guide to posting and skills.
o The Video Guides for Kindergarten Benchmarks and elementary posting should be done this week and posted off Safari Montage for viewing if needed.
· We have new Additions to Reports: In Gradebook and soon to be added to Discovery ( Thanks to programmers Craig and Sabrina):
o Granite Secondary Progress:
§ We have added Gradelevel (Optional) as a field
§ Current grade ( not posted grade)
§ Failing Students Only: Will show students failing 1 class or more can be run for either progress or current grades.
§ GTI Courses or Students that attend another school: The Course and or the other school will be pulled into the Progress report for the student.
o Granite Assignments By Student:
§ Failing Sections Only: Will show Assignments and scores for all courses the student is failing and include ONLY the Courses they are failing
o Granite Assignments By Section:
§ Failing Students Only: Will show the Section Student is failing and show all students with F’s
o Granite Teacher Worksheet:
§ The calculated percentage and grade is displayed next to each student name.
§ The name column for students has been expanded to allow try and keep long student names on one line… some names will still wrap.
§ The font for the assignment name was changed to allow up to 19 assignments to be displayed on a single page.
§ The number of points possible for an assignment is now displayed.
§ Up to 18 extra lines will appear on the teacher worksheet. The number of extra lines will displayed on each page will change to display the maximum number of extra lines possible on a printed PDF version of the report without creating any extra pages. (My math teachers would be proud of the formula it took to make this work.)
· Remove Assignments: Many have stated that it is difficult to clear scores from an assignment they want to delete. To clear the scores for the assignment, go to the grade book, click on the assignment title you want to delete, in the “Fill Value” leave it blank and click the blue arrow to the right of the box, then click SAVE.
· Notification of Posting: Many teachers want to know if they have posted for a course. To see that, they go to the Class List page and take a look in the Quick Action column to the right, they will see a Green check mark in front of the ABC icon if they posted and of the grades for a class. The check does not mean that the teacher has posted all grades for a class, simply that they have started posting.
